Although we receive a 50% discount from the Mid Sussex District Council, the pool hire charge that we have to find for our one hour session each week is £55 and for this we rely on donations.

Every one of our helpers is an unpaid volunteer and all the money we raise pays for the cost of pool hire and the purchase of special equipment, such as pool side wheelchairs.

We also have to raise money for the maintenance of our special custom-built hoist that gets our members in and out of the water safely and a specially designed electronic changing bed used by our severely disabled members.

Our sponsorship secretary contacts local businesses and organisations for sponsorship of one or more of our evenings and allocates an evening to the sponsoring company/organisation. We then invite the sponsor to our club night at Kings Centre Pool on their special evening to see exactly how their money is spent and just how much pleasure and help they have given to our disabled members.

For many of them it is the only real exercise and freedom of movement that they enjoy each week.

Membership

Tadpoles pay a membership fee of £2 per annum and 50p each time they swim.
